The Tear-Aways just don't cut it

For a very long time I have been searching high an low for something very few people have. Walking through the hallways my lack of fashion sense is shoved in my face. Oh! I know how to match when it comes to clothing... Unfortunately, that’s the extent of it. What is different about these people (aside from their style of course)? Is it something that comes naturally and I was unlucky enough to miss out on the talent? Is there a secret store I don’t know about? With a one stop wardrobe-of-style package? Is it that I was so caught up in the norm that I didn’t notice my closet filling with surfer brands?
In grade six you could hear me coming miles away because of the track pants I would wear five days a week (Oh shut-up you wore 'em too!). I didn’t have to worry about what people thought about me. Ahh the days before conformity, when it was fine to only wash when faced with the dilemma of “Bed or Bath”. As we all know, it doesn’t stay that way forever. I was moved from an Elementary school in Coalhurst into grade seven at Hamilton Junior High and soon after realized that my track pants weren’t going to cut it. The change in schools was the beginning of my collection of surf company shirts. Why did I buy them? Couldn't tell ya, I don’t surf…I live in Canada. Gone were the days of originality for me. It's time to do something about it. Hopefully I can find that secret store.
So prepare for a new Teck! I’m gonna come up with a style that’s gonna blow your mind! Then again…what if you make fun of me? Well I can’t have any of that and neither can you. “Conform OK, it’s just easier.”

Clothing is a weird thing. It can be something simply just to cover your body, something to prove that your someone or an art form in some cases. In our society it seems that it is ment to represent your social, financial and sometimes sexual status, which is very stereotypical.I can admit that i have weak style too. don't know why just do. People such as us lacking style but not substance shouldn't care what people have to think because if they have a conclusion of to who and what iam based on weather iam wearing a gap shirt or a quicksilver shirt they don't deserve to be my friend. What the moral of what im saying is that you cannot put a price tag on personality. In my opinion i think tangible things should be secondary because at the end of the day your quicksilver t-shirt doesn't matter, what matters is the relationships and the true valve of the people you love and care for which will never get old like your style.

you have to be careful with style, some people buy all their cloths from one store and then look like the manakins, is this style? I don't know....it isn't exactly original though.

Good point with the surfer brands, it's actually hilarious...all these kids from southern alberta wearing quiksliver and billabong...have any of them actually been surfing?

If you wanna look cool though dress like I do, I drip with style man! haha...kidding.

by actively trying to create your own style your just conforming in a different way. im sick of seeing everyone trying so hard to be different, because having each person actively persuing originality, they're all being the same. you shouldnt have to wake up someday and be like, "man, i need a style", it should be "man, i have style". styles shouldnt be forced.
